How To Find The Perfect Coat: Three Critical Points To Consider
Winter is the most magical and beautiful time of the year, filled with holiday cheer, joy, warmth, and family time. A cold season is also known for crisp air, snow, freezing temperatures, and relentless wind. It is the time when we bundle up into a warm coat, soft scarf, a cozy hat, and gloves while sipping hot cocoa by a fire pit. It is important to know how to layer yourself in winters to breeze your way through the cold season without any troubles.
While it is essential to have quality base layer garments, the critical piece of any fall or winter outfit is a coat. The perfect coat “wears many hats.” It needs to keep your body warm, becoming the barrier between you and nature. Of course, I wear tights, but my legs get cold even with tights if I wear a short jacket. So it has become essential for me to have a longer coat that I can fully wrap around myself.
2> Second, my coats have to have wide lapels. While I love to wear my coats unbuttoned, I like the cozy feel of closed lapels when it gets chilly. Wide lapels function as a fashion statement and a practical add-on.
3> Third, excellent design and material quality are a must. And yes, quality costs money, but the perfect Coat will last you years. If you take good care of your clothes, they will take care of you. Additionally, the ideal Coat needs to be lined, well stitched, and have pockets.
An important note is that lining truly makes a huge difference. For one, the lining covers inside stitches, making a coat look more formal and elegant. The lining also reinforces the frame of a coat. And lastly, the lining prolongs the Coat’s life protecting the primary material from wear and tear.
